Google Docs Survey Tool

While I was asking for some recommendations of good online survey websites, one of my friends simply answered "use Google Docs!" I didn't know that Google Docs is able to create an online survey until then.

Here are the steps of creating a survey by Google:

Creating a form from your Docs list:

  1. Click Create new > Form.
  2. In the form template that opens, you can add any questions and options you'd like.
  3. Click Email this form once you've finished adding your questions.
  4. Add the email addresses of the people to whom you want to send this form.
  5. Click Send.
Not only users can send this survey by e-mail, but they also can embed the survey in their websites or blog. (But users should consider the corresponding layout carefully)
Google Docs automatically collect data into spreadsheet, and allow users to view in chart forms, which I found quite helpful in that I do not need to create pie-chart from excel. In addition, Goggle Docs also provides more than 100 survey templates!

Here is the survey I made for my final research paper for English Composition class: click here
It will be nice if you can fill it out for me (since I have to collect 100 results!), and I really appreciate it! :)

  1. Brilliant Sonia, thanks for posting this.

As far as I understand, you can also embed such a Google Docs survey form in a web page or blog.

Hopefully someone from the class will experiment with creating such a survey and embedding it in their blog or website. That would be cool.

Good luck with your survey for your Composition Class. You might want to announce it on twitter.

  2. I figured out it as well, but the layout of the survey is hard to control because it doesn't fit the template of my blog.

I was amazed by the internet again, I received over 200 responses within two days! Online survey system turns out to be a really convey tool to use nowadays.
